Yamaha f70 flash ecu2/29/2024 ![]() ![]() This is a common failure point blamed on the IAC but the root problem isn't the IACs, it's the fact that Mercury is exceeding the duty cycle on many of the engines that causes them to overheat and short out. The harness contains a replaceable fuse that will blow and prevent the shorted IAC from damaging the PCM (ECU-Computer). ![]() My inference: in 13-years of manufacturing the F70 series, Yamaha apparently changed enough elements of. Some of the supported marine engines: Yamaha F40 1.0L. 1 ECU Remapping F70 10-05-2020, 03:57 PM Anyone remap there F70 Ecu to gain any performance Where did you go and what are your thoughts. With our XDF you can modify some engine parameters like main fuel maps by accelerator, lambda maps, main spark advance maps, air control, rpm limiters. More information: The c.2009 F70 'Hot Sheet'. New TunerPro bin calibration file (XDF) for Yamaha Outboard with engine control unit Mitsubishi and file size 512kb. Now 13-years later, the current engines being sold in 2022 are usually F70A engines. All other parts an numbers are the exact same. Also the only difference in the f50 vs f60 is this part an part of the ecu. The advantage of the harness is to prevent a failed IAC from damaging the PCM, which is $2,000+ to replace. In Yamaha model designations 'A' suffix indicates the first changed version. I've been reading where if you pull the restricter plate out it adds 400 to 600 rpms. Replacement IACs and fuses are also available. Also included are two USA made IAC units with gaskets, hardware, (just in case you drop one in the bilge) spare fuses and a canvas storage pouch. The kit was developed for twin engine applications and includes two plug-and-play IAC harnesses that are fused to prevent a direct short to the PCM. Additionally, the ECU permits the usage of The Handlebar Map Switch P/N B7B-8 (sold separately) that allows the rider to select between two (2) pre-programed ECU maps and The GYTR. Our kit eliminates costly PCM damage that can occur when an IAC fails, which can be a common occurance. The GYTR Competition Kit replaces the stock ECU and includes a modified throttle stop to allow full throttle operation and unrestricted engine performance for closed course racing competitions. The Yamaha F70 is a hyped up 60 HP motor. Given that most 4-stroke motors are able to make 1-HP-per-cubic-inch-of-displacement, the old DF 60 was basically a detuned 80 HP outboard. The Marine Design Corporation IAC Survival Kit is designed specifically for Mercury Racing 600SCi, 662SCi and 700SCi engines. It's a BIGGER motor than the 1-L Yamaha F70 in two ways - weight and displacement. while I have no idea on this particular model, it is usually not as easy as it seems, lots of engines share a common block 'family' but to convert one to the next HP can be very expensive, and is often not worth the trouble, that being said, it is 'sometimes' easily done, parts that can be different to give the higher HP. ![]()
